Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the global fight fans shared sympathy for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
