Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete

The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in contact with the NFL.

The organization did not mention Rice by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Allegations Posted on Instagram

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Reportedly Unavailable

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.

Player's Recent Legal Issues

Rice was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. Rice was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
