Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane ferrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official statement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed following standard protocol and everyone onboard, among them Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson said in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This event does not mark the first time that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet ferrying Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to return to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical problem.
