Liverpool's Star Offers Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones has shared that Salah said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the fallout from his public comments.

The Incident

He was omitted from a European match after voicing frustrations and stating his relationship with manager had deteriorated.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”

The head coach has chosen not to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.

Moving Forward

The player stated that the team's response was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.

The midfielder also implied that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I get that there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”

Positive Results

Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the initial controversy. Jones believes the forward's comments were not intended to harm the team.

“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, getting results and securing victories.”
