Rob Edwards and O'Neil Among Wolverhampton Wanderers Managerial Candidates

Edwards and O'Neil are two of the initial names in the frame to succeed the former manager as manager of Wolves.

Pereira was dismissed on Sunday after the team's ten-game winless start to the Premier League season.

Furthermore both candidates - each of whom have previous associations to the club - are part of the options to be considered by the club ownership.

Edwards is currently at another club, which would create a potential hurdle to his hiring at Wolves' stadium.

Nevertheless the former Luton Town head coach - who made more than 100 of games for Wolves during his playing career - is considered a strong contender for the vacancy.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys backing from the club directors as they start the search of hiring a new head coach.

Gary O'Neil is also appearing as a surprise contender, although he would be a surprising appointment considering he was sacked by the club in the previous winter.

The ex- West Ham United midfielder is currently unemployed meaning Wolves would not be required to provide any buyout fee.
