The First Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Remains Committed.

Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the death bells for the green team. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Xbox fan sites are now publishing content on PS5 topics unprecedentedly. Last year proved to be a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox still intends to draw people in with compelling titles on its flagship service.

The Immediate Additions

The duo of games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

Starting January 13th, Game Pass will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. Another big get is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of frights and fights."

Intriguing Niche Additions

But even the smaller games set to join the catalog are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by Rebellion Developments, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Robust Selection of Games

In summary, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription alone. However, this batch of games are rock solid. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — transforming them into perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.

You might need to brace yourself to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
