The Streaming Platform to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent Far Cry instalment that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for celebrating chaos and mayhem with the same excitement, all while telling captivating, ideologically themed stories. It’s no surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two visionaries whose work have embodied all of those things.

What to Expect

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game property, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also mirror the video games' structure by having a different backdrop and group of personalities in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also appear in the show, but at the time of writing, we do not know what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney finalizing a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX family always encourages me with their steady confidence and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology program. Every instalment is a interpretation of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” said Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always examining the core of society through this complex and chaotic viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and present our mutual unconventional, visionary approach to the television.”

A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
