This Swine Life: Hog Named Six Seven Spared by Miami-Dade Leader.

It might not have been at the identical stature as sparing Thanksgiving turkeys, but the Miami-Dade County mayor experienced a Donald Trump moment this week by formally pardoning the life of a swine named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava carried out the annual tradition at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“This pig is innocent. Clemency is justified for her. No offenses are on her docket,” stated the mayor in a speech with obvious nods to the sheer volume of pardons issued since the commencement of a current administration.

“If we disregard eating six or seven apples per day,” the mayor added. “May this pig enjoy a lengthy and joyful existence without fear.”

The event, which both honors and questions the area's customary feast of feasting on pork during the holidays, was created to mirror the annual turkey pardoning at the White House.

The swine, provided by a Coral Gables firefighter, was given its name from the current slang trend of young people yelling “six seven” – inspired by a musical verse – often seemingly at random. The trend became so ubiquitous that a leading lexicon site recently made “6-7” its annual vocabulary selection.

A Future Secured

This particular pig is now scheduled to spend its days at a rural sanctuary “away from grills and cookware”, according to the organizers' announcement.

“This swine clemency has become one of our favorite ways to begin the end-of-year celebrations,” said Eric Castellanos, in a notably cheerful message.

“It embodies the spirit of Miami: happy, diverse, and based in heritage that bring people together. Every time, we are honored to observe heritage and mercy in a way only Miami can.”

Guests enjoyed a vegetarian menu of spinach fritters and strong coffee as they celebrated the pig's pardon.
