Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.

This event – described by police as was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
